Ranchoite, you ask? Yes, that’s a term for a ranch local coined in the 1950’s by Chris’s father Dave Hillman who founded The Rancho Santa Fe Times, once the talk of the town and now a valuable historical resource that chronicled what life was like here in the 1950’s-1980’s.
On July 11th, 2024 we welcomed Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Country Rock pioneer, and ranchoite Chris Hillman at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe.
In his warm and engaging way, Chris shared with us his book TIME BETWEEN: My Life as a Byrd, Burrito Brother, and Beyond, a fantastic autobiography that begins with five chapters on growing up in the Ranch and goes on to span nearly six decades of Hillman’s prolific career.
